Legal bases for processing in the EEA

Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, we process personal data only on a lawful basis:

• Contract and pre-contractual steps (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): to display the store, process your order and payment, provide downloads, manage a customer account, and respond to contract-related enquiries.
• Legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR): in particular to comply with commercial, tax, consumer protection and record-keeping duties and to handle statutory data-subject requests.

Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API

Through the Shopify “Facebook & Instagram” sales channel, we use advertising and measurement technologies provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland (“Meta”). Depending on the data-sharing level selected in the sales channel, the Meta Pixel and additionally the server-side Meta Conversions API are used. At the “Enhanced” data-sharing level, both the Meta Pixel and the Conversions API are used.

The following data in particular may be sent to Meta: pages and products viewed, searches, cart and checkout events, payment and purchase events, order value, currency and product identifiers, event time and URL, referrer, IP address, browser and device information, and online identifiers. At the “Enhanced” data-sharing level, name, location, email address and telephone number may also be transmitted for matching purposes.

The processing is used to measure and attribute purchases and advertising campaigns, compile statistics, optimise our advertising, create audiences, and display relevant advertising on Meta services. For visitors in the EEA, we use non-essential marketing and tracking functions only on the basis of consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where German law applies, Section 25(1) TDDDG. Consent is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time through our store's cookie and privacy settings. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

To the extent that Bellyforge and Meta jointly determine the purposes and means of collecting and transmitting Event Data, they are joint controllers for that processing under Article 26 GDPR. Meta may also process data outside the EEA, in particular in the United States. Such transfers are subject to the transfer mechanisms and safeguards described in the Meta Privacy Policy and the agreements with Meta. Shopify Network Intelligence and Enhanced Services

When Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled, Shopify processes data from the use of our store together with data from interactions with Shopify and other merchants in order to provide Enhanced Services.
